The road to fulfilling her dreams was never a straight one, but the experience gained along the way is what lead Tracy to this moment in time.

Tracy’s life was so unmanageable and abusive, she became homeless with her child, drug addicted, and beaten down by the negative images that surrounded her community.

Seeing no future, no hope, and no way out, during this hour of darkness Tracy found a six month treatment program in San Francisco. The experience at the treatment program was life awakening. Tracy became involved in a new community where she marched and protested for women’s rights. She took a stand for homelessness and advocated for supportive housing for single parents. When Tracy completed the treatment program she had a new life with high standards and goals to complete.

While working and raising a family, Tracy was able to obtain a degree in Business Accounting. Tracy gained a career position in a corporate environment as a Financial Analyst.

Having found a new life of freedom, Tracy became a voice for people who needed to know there was a better way of life.

In 2011, Tracy opened the doors to her non-profit organization which provides an important, sustainable service to the community. Change To Come is a transitional housing community designed to help single parents in recovery create a healthy life with their children. It provides a sober living environment for parents in recovery from addiction and abuse that promotes holistic care, personalized support, parenting skills, and recovery from trauma. So far she has gotten over 200 people on the path to a healthier life.

Tracy’s work has received recognition from Scott Weiner of the California legislature, Assemblymember David Chiu, and Oakland City Councilmember (district 3) Linette Gibson McElhaney. An achievement award from the Good Shepard Gracenter, brought things full circle. Her non-profit is generously supported by Safeway, Thriving Women in Business Community, Lowell Barry, Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce, Walmart, and Royal Neighbors of America.

Tracy speaks to organizations about how to start and own a 501(c)3, blending knowledge and experience with a deep connection with her audiences.

Her current dream is to help you be a changemaker with your non-profit organization and to provide you with the support and information you need to make the world a better place. When your heart (what you believe in) mind (the problem you want to solve) and action (starting your non-profit) are in alignment, your vision will be unstoppable.
